How do astrophysical sources contribute to the cosmic ecosystem?
APC and AIM study high-energy sources, such as black holes and neutron stars, using a multi-messenger, multi-scale approach focused on accretion, ejection, and particle dynamics. Leveraging APC’s theoretical models and both labs’ high-performance simulations, they analyze binary mergers and their emissions using instruments like Virgo/LIGO, KM3NeT, MeerKAT, SKA, SVOM, CTA, and Einstein Probe. This research integrates data from diverse cosmic phenomena (X-ray binaries, gamma-ray bursts, etc.) to provide insights into dense matter and energy processes across multiple scales. IPGP complements these efforts with studies of accretion nebulae, enhancing our understanding of the cosmic ecosystem.
