MANTLF-Box — Multi-messenger analysis of neutrino-tomography low-filtered box
© Super-Kamiokande
While geophysical data, such as seismic waves, have revealed the internal structure of the Earth, imaging the distribution of volatile elements—particularly hydrogen—remains challenging. Next-generation neutrino detectors, however, will allow the observation of flavor oscillations of high-energy neutrinos propagating through the Earth, opening the way to electron density imaging. The MANTLF-Box team (Q2) is the only international group bringing together high-energy physicists and geophysicists around this goal. By leveraging data from large observational infrastructures, this project contributes to HERMES’ collective effort to interpret extreme phenomena over long periods of observation.
This project’s principal investigator is Nobuaki Fuji (IPGP).
