Thorsten Kleine is a geochemist and planetary scientist who earned his diploma in Geology (2000) and Mineralogy (2001), followed by a PhD in Geochemistry (2004), all from the University of Münster, Germany. He completed his habilitation in Geochemistry and Cosmochemistry at ETH Zürich in 2008, where he also worked as a Research Associate and later as Assistant Professor for Isotope Geochemistry. In 2009, he became Professor for Planetology at the University of Münster. Since 2021, he has served as Director and Scientific Member at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research.
