Sara Buson is an astrophysicist specializing in high-energy astrophysics and gamma-ray observations. She obtained her Master’s degree and PhD in Physics from the University of Padova in 2013, and gained international research experience at Stanford University and the Space Sciences Laboratory in Berkeley. After postdoctoral work in Italy, she joined the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as a NASA Postdoctoral Fellow in 2015. She is currently a scientist at DESY in Berlin and Professor at the University of Würzburg, where her research group is supported by an ERC Starting Grant awarded in 2021. She has been a long-standing member of the Fermi-LAT collaboration, contributing to studies of blazars and active galactic nuclei, and has held leadership roles within the collaboration.
