Nicola Tamanini is a physicist specializing in gravitational waves, cosmology, and alternative theories of gravity. He obtained a BSc in Physics (2008) and an MSc in Theoretical and Computational Physics (2010) from the University of Trento, Italy, followed by a PhD in Applied Mathematics from University College London (2014). During his early career, he focused on theoretical and mathematical aspects of gravity and cosmology. He then held postdoctoral positions at the Institut de Physique Théorique at CEA Saclay, where he began working on gravitational waves and joined the LISA Consortium, and at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) in Potsdam, where he contributed to the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. Since 2021, he has been a CNRS Directeur de Recherche at the Laboratoire des 2 Infinis in Toulouse, leading the gravitational wave group and contributing to major international collaborations including LISA, Virgo, and the Einstein Telescope.
