William F. McDonough is a geochemist whose research focuses on the composition, structure, and evolution of the Earth and other terrestrial planets. He earned his PhD in Geochemistry from the Australian National University and has held academic positions in the United States and Australia, including at the University of Maryland, where he is a professor.
